Eire Og - Winners of the Shield Competition Locus Management P4 Football Blitz 2006 Éire Óg hosted their annual Primary 4 football tournament sponsored by local company Locus Management at Woodlands last Sunday. Teams from Sarsfields, St Agnes, Lamh Dhearg, St Teresas, St Galls and Aldergrove along with host club Éire Óg took part. The standard of football, from children as young as five years of age, was superb and credit must go to the hard working mentors from all the clubs involved. St Galls for the second year in a row took the honours in the Locus Management Cup after defeating a very talented Lámh Dhearg team in the final. On their way to the final St Galls overcame St Agnes by the narrowest of margins in a match that went right to the wire, while in the other semi Lámh Dhearg came from behind to defeat an impressive Aldegrove team. In the Locus Shield host club Éire Óg defeated St Teresa’s in a pulsating final to claim victory. Ryan Mooney, Oran McGeough and Dara Matthews were the key men for the Ógs in securing their win against a gallant St Teresa’s team for whom young Ronan Hamill who is only 5 and Niall McCann were most impressive.
