LATEST NEWS - Eire Og start the new season in Division 1!

O'Donnells 4-6 Eire Og 3-5 Friday 31 March 2006

This was the first game of the season for a very young U12 Ogs team, indeed it was the first game for many of the young Ogs in actual league competition. It took the whole of the first half for the Ogs to realise that they were in a game and capable of playing at this level which was reflected in the scoreline of 4-5 to 0-1. The second half produced a totally different game with the Ogs now realising that they were in a game and attacking and defending in numbers produced some great football. The second half sore line reflected the gutsy determination of the young Ogs with the score at full time reading 4-6 to 3-5 for O'Ds. An encouraging 2nd half display will lead to better things to come for the young Ogs in this U12 league campaign. Best for the Ogs: Daniel Reid, Paul Smith, Fergal Ryan, Conor Browning and Christopher Murphy

Eire Og 5-6 v Lamh Deargh 2-0 Friday 7th April @ Boucher Rd

Extremely bad weather conditions throughout the entire game meant that both teams had to work extremely hard to move the ball and themselves to keep warm. The Ogs had 90% of the possession in the first half putting together some good moves and taking some lovely scores considering the conditions. The Ogs dominated in all positions with particularly excellent displays in midfield, half back and half forward. The return of Mattie Kennan, Michael McCamley and Dermot Murray played a major role in strengthening the aforementioned 3 positions with great displays by all mentioned, which was reflected in the half time score line of 3-4 to 0-0 to the Ogs. The start of the second half was more of the same with the Ogs dominating possession for the first 10 minutes. Lamh Deargh then made a surge forward making good use of the wind advantage and, taking 2 goals in quick succession, rattled the Ogs. The introduction of Fergal Ryan and Ben Toner into the back line steadied the ship and the Ogs were then able to move the ball forward again taking another 4 well worked scores resulting in a convincing win for the Ogs.
